Woofun AI reports that Odos Protocol has initiated a complete shutdown of its operations, establishing a hard deadline of July 30 for all users to withdraw their assets. This abrupt cessation marks a definitive end to the service without an immediate explanation from the management team.
The operational separation was clarified in a Thursday post on X, which distinguished the operating company from the Odos DAO. While the corporate entity dissolves, the DAO will independently announce its future plans, and the ODOS token will remain active onchain. This structural split ensures that governance and token utility persist despite the commercial closure.
Financial performance data reveals a stark decline in activity over the past two years. Aggregator volume plummeted to $169 million in July 2026, a sharp contrast to the $7.8 billion peak recorded in December 2024.
Woofun AI data shows annualized revenue stood at $2.72 million prior to the shutdown, highlighting the diminishing economic viability of the platform.
This exit aligns with a broader industry contraction, as several crypto platforms and DeFi protocols have announced closures in recent months.
Notably, derivatives exchange BitMEX also announced its shutdown on Thursday, ending an 11-year run. The simultaneous failures suggest a systemic cooling in the sector's operational sustainability.
